The King-Merritt Association, also known as the King-Merritt Community, was founded in 1952 as a neighborhood association comprised of homes on the former estate of John McEntee Bowman.
"The objects and purposes of this organization shall be to promote civic improvement, community spirit, acquaintance and neighborliness, ... to do everything reasonable and proper to promote the civic betterment and the improvement of the community, and to encourage the preservation and protection of the property and rights of the home owner members of the organization."
