The records for the Greenwich Center for the Arts include administrative records, organizational records, presentations and events, publicity, reports, related town organizations, Havemeyer building renovation records, and lease records. The strength of the records is found within the administrative, publicity, and related town organization series. These series give a historical overview of the involvement and impact the organization had on the town of Greenwich.
The Administrative series ranges from 2000-2008 and includes information such as Public Relations, Board of Directors, Contractors, Fundraising, and Attorneys. Of particular interest are letters of support written to the organization from local businesses and individuals, one of which was Olga Hirshhorn. This series also includes a subseries of financial records.
The Organizational series contains vital records including the Certificate of Incorporation, Mission and Vision statements, and records regarding organizational dissolution. A subseries for Meeting Minutes and Reports was created and includes Minutes from the Board of Director meetings, as well as reports and correspondences regarding other meetings held by members of the Board of Directors with people and organizations. These records are filed by date.
Due to the nature of the organization a series for Havemeyer Building, proposed renovation records was created. This includes a complete history of the building, from a copy of the trust and deed for the land from 1891, through to cost estimates and schematic designs of the proposed renovations in 2008. Also included is a CD labeled "Report and Historic Photos."
A series just for the Lease was created due to the great extent of lease drafts between the GCA and the Town of Greenwich, as well as the correspondences between the town, Board of Education and GCA regarding the Lease.
The Publicity series contains a wide range of articles, both original and copies, on community projects and happenings with regards to the Center for the Arts, published from 2003-2009 and filed by date. Also included is a DVD copy of a GCTV spotlight on the GCA from February 2006.
The Presentation and Events series includes copies of presentations, talking points, information sessions, retreats, and events, such as tours and an open house.
A series for Related Town Organizations was created due to the extent of records from research and correspondences between the GCA and these organizations.
The Reports series includes studies, plans, and reports from 2004-2007. These reports were generated both for, and by the GCA regarding various subjects such as user groups, space utilization, parking survey, strategic planning, etc.
