Biographical / Historical
The First Presbyterian Church of Greenwich was established in 1881 with its first meeting taking place on Easter Sunday in a public hall in town. In 1887 the church dedicated a building that it still uses to this day on what is now West Putnam Avenue. The First Presbyterian Church of Greenwich is dedicated to education, constructing their first classrooms in 1924 and expanding multiple times over the years and opening their own nursery school. They are deeply involved in chartiable work and public service, providing support to many important local and national organizations.
