Biographical / Historical
C. Carleton Gisborne was the First Selectman of the Town of Greenwich from 1952-1955. He was deeply involved in town politics, even after his time as First Selectman, and remained involved up until his death. On top of his political career, Mr. Gisborne was a builder and contractor, and a devoted citizen of not only Connectiut but of the United States as a whole. His brother, F. Reginald Ginsborne, was also involved with town government. Both men have oral histories available through the Greenwich Oral History Project, on file at the Greenwich Library.
