Keig Family Materials
Scope and Contents
This collection is primarily comprised of text documents with a few photographs foldered on their own. The materials include correspondence, invitations, personal notes, receipts for various home goods, funeral bills and correspondence, newspaper clippings, and doctor's notes.
Of particular interest might be: a letter from the Navy's Treasury Department informing James Keig of the status of the prize money he claimed during his time serving in the Spanish-American War in the Charoltte Marie Keig and James Keig folder; an anonymous letter warning Margaret Keig, at that point still Margaret Dilworth, away from the man she was dating at the time; or the full collections lists of St. Catherine of Siena church for 1933-1936.

Biographical / Historical
The Keig family immigrated to America in the late 1800s, with James Keig gaining citizenship in 1897 having lived here for a number of years beforehand. These materials were collected over the life of Margaret Dilworth Keig and were gifted to the historical society in 1997 on the death of her daughter, Dr. Judith Keig.
